Lighthouse

Lighthouse is an experimental project that intends to use art as a way to support biodiversity protection. The project proposes a creative solution to the issue of bird colliding with buildings. It is estimated in the US that up to a billion birds die each year in collisions with glass. Unlike humans, many birds are able to see UV light, meaning that glass coated with the right combination of UV materials will prevent collisions with glass. Lighthouse demonstrates one possible solution.

The works below show two installations of the work in Beijing between 2021 and 2022.
